Version 9 is now available in four editions to meet the different reporting requirements of developers, IT professionals and business users: Standard, Professional, Developer, and Advanced.

For Business Users:

Standard Edition with its ‘no frills’ reporting solution. Designed for personal report creation, the Standard Edition provides only basic report design functionality based upon PC-based data sources.

Professional Edition with additional functionality including productivity tools such as the Repository - a central library for report elements, formula, text objects, images etc., to be shared, reused and updated across multiple reports. Professional includes customisable report templates, and a formula workshop resource, as well as an out-of-the-box solution for providing access to reports via the Web. Full integration is offered with mediums such as Microsoft® Smart Tags/Office XP and compatibility with XML & OLAP datasources.

For IT Professionals:

Advanced Edition Recommended for web and wireless application development.

Designed for complex report creation and integration within web and wireless applications, the Advanced Edition offers the complete Crystal Reports® feature set - including deployment licensing, custom data access, and runtime report design. The Advanced Edition is recommended for Java™, .NET and COM developers who are planning to build and deploy custom web applications. It is also the recommended upgrade for those using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio® .NET, a custom edition integrated in Microsoft® Visual Studio .NET.

Developer Edition Recommended for thick-client application development.
Designed for less complex and smaller-scale application integration, the Developer Edition provides report creation and integration tools for thick-client applications. You may also develop and test basic web applications using this edition.
