System Backup Information For Customers

We recommend that backups are run each night, on a minimum 5-day rotation, Monday to Friday. 

 

For a month end backup to be kept for a minimum of 3 months i.e. the tape used at the month end to be removed from the 5-day cycle and kept in storage, with this tape being replaced with a new backup tape.

 

Please ensure the tapes are clearly labelled and rotated accordingly.

 

Please be aware that it is the responsibility of the Client to check the backups each morning and to report any problems to Support if they require these to be investigated further. 

 

The backups can be checked on the server console using the backup software, if you would like an engineer to go through this with you then please contact the Synergy Support Desk.

 

It may be possible to setup an email notification to yourself with the status of the backup job.

 

If you do not have this feature at the moment please contact Synergy Support who will see if this is possible. 

 

Please note that is very important that you have a nominated person on your site who is responsible for checking the backups
